The Johan Cruyff Institute is, for the first time, a sponsor of the International Carnaval Cup, a youth football tournament \u00a0that will take place from March 1 to 3<\/strong> in the town of Premi\u00e0 de Dalt<\/strong>, near Barcelona, and in which top teams in the category participate, such as FC Barcelona<\/strong>, RCD Espanyol<\/strong>, Valencia CF<\/strong>, Girona FC<\/strong>, Sevilla FC<\/strong>, Real Sociedad<\/strong>, RC Celta de Vigo<\/strong>, Manchester City<\/strong>, Genk<\/strong>, Lonestar SC<\/strong>, Stevenage FC<\/strong>, Fablok<\/strong> and Premia de Dalt<\/strong>, among others. <\/p>\n One of the missions of the Johan Cruyff Institute<\/a> is to collaborate in the development of athletes beyond their sport careers, and being aware of the importance of academic studies<\/a> at these ages, when many young people must decide whether to stop their studies to become professionals in their sport, is vital. The institution will grant two scholarships<\/strong> for the course Sport Management Fundamentals<\/a> to the coaches of the winning teams.<\/p>\n The sixth edition of the International Carnaval Cup, organized by Marin Sports Events<\/strong> in collaboration with the Premia de Dalt town council<\/strong>, is again taking advantage of the break in the youth team leagues for carnival. This year, the “VI International Carnaval Cup” will be held at the CE Premia de Dalt sports club.<\/p>\n It all started in 2012, when Marin Sports Events<\/strong> proposed the idea of holding a tournament on a different date from all the others. The organizers gave the green light to hold it on the carnival dates and so the first edition was held with only the presence of one important team, RCD Espanyol<\/strong>, who were the winners of that first edition. The following year it was decided to hold a second edition, for which the organizers managed to attract two more teams at the level of RCD Espanyol<\/strong>. Those teams were FC Barcelona<\/strong> and Valencia CF<\/strong>, who continue participate to this day.<\/p>\n “For us, organizing an event of this nature gives us a great feeling of happiness, since our main objective is to promote the values of teamwork, solidarity, self-improvement and, above all, that all participants enjoy one of their best experiences playing what they like most: football,\u201d explains Jesus Marin<\/strong>, general manager of Marin Sports Events<\/strong>. And he goes on to add: “We have received many requests from foreign teams to participate and the teams that do participate, once the tournament is over, ask us to reserve them a place for the next edition. For us, it is an honor to have the collaboration of the Johan Cruyff Institute<\/a>, an organization that bears the name of a great person, player and coach.
