The UAB, with which Johan Cruyff Institute jointly teaches the Official Master’s Degree in Sport Management, is rated the second best Spanish university and the 145th in the world in the prestigious WUR ranking published by the Times Higher Education

The Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the entity with which Johan Cruyff Institute jointly teaches the Official Master’s Degree in Sport Management, is once again rated one of the most important universities in the world: it ranks 145th among universities around the world, 63rd at European level, and has consolidated its position as the second best Spanish university, according to the 2019 World University Ranking (WUR).

The WUR, published by the Times Higher Education, compares more than 2,000 universities and is the first ranking aimed at assessing excellence in teaching.

Johan Cruyff Institute joined up with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona four years ago to obtain official recognition for the Master’s Degree in Sport Management and to jointly teach, linked to the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UAB, the Official Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the 2016-17 academic year. The program is available on-campus (in Spanish) and online (in Spanish and English) and delves into the most important aspects of management applied to sport.

The sports industry is an increasingly important driver of the world economy and the Official Master’s Degree in Sport Management focuses on understanding and applying the strategic, global and objective vision of this sector from a business perspective. The program evolves at the same pace as the industry, incorporating the latest trends and an updated vision of the current reality, thanks to the experience of an expert faculty closely linked to sport.

The master’s program also incorporates ‘master classes’ with exclusive speakers from the field of sport management and business, and ‘field trips’ that enrich the students’ experience, expanding their network of contacts in the world of sports. It is taught on campus in Barcelona in Spanish, and online in both Spanish and English, so that students can combine their sport and/or work with the course workload.
