The TRAM Barcelona Open<\/a> 2023, which in its sixth edition reached the highest category of international wheelchair tennis (ITF1), awarded two scholarships to study Johan Cruyff Institute’s Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Management Online<\/a><\/h2>\n

The best international wheelchair tennis came for the sixth year to Barcelona as one of the most anticipated and prestigious tournaments of the season. The TRAM Barcelona Open <\/a><\/strong>brought\u00a0together the best players on the circuit in the men’s, women’s and quad categories, from May 24 to 28 at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, with the Cruyff Foundation<\/strong><\/a> as the organizing entity and Johan Cruyff Institute<\/a> <\/strong>as the official partner. On Saturday, at the event’s official dinner, our general manager, Mari\u00ebl Koerhuis, awarded the Colombian player Ang\u00e9lica Bernal and Francisco Cayulef (Chile) two full scholarships<\/strong> to study Johan Cruyff Institute’s Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Management Online<\/strong><\/a>, valued at 4,850 euros. <\/p>\n

The main novelty this year is that the tournament became part of the ITF1 circuit, for the first time in its history, undoubtedly the best recognition for the great work the organizers have been doing since the first edition in 2017. The director of the TRAM Barcelona Open<\/strong><\/a>, Jos\u00e9 Coronado,<\/strong> a graduate of our Blended Master in Marketing and Sport Management (Barcelona)<\/strong><\/a>, said “we are proud that we can hold a tournament of the highest international level for the first time in Spain, as there are only 10 in the world, and that it is ours. We are very happy to have the support of the players, who consider the tournament a reference in the clay court circuit as a preparation for Roland Garros.”<\/p>\n

The official presentation of the TRAM Barcelona Open 2023 was held at Real Club Tenis Barcelona in the presence of David Escud\u00e9 (Ajuntament de Barcelona); Humberto L\u00f3pez Vilalta (TRAM); Silvia Mart\u00ed (Moventia); Javier Soler (RFET); Jordi Tamayo (FCT); Javier Moreno (RCPB);\u00a0 Pati Roura (Fundaci\u00f3n Cruyff), Alex Corretja and Jos\u00e9 Coronado (TRAM Barcelona Open).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Under the motto ‘Our limit is set by the court’, the TRAM Barcelona Open 2023<\/strong><\/a> brought together a luxury line-up, with the participation of 70 players from more than 15 different countries, including the top three in the world ranking of the Uniqlo Wheelchair Tennis Tour in the men\u2019s, women\u2019s and quad categories. In addition to the sporting objective, the tournament has not lost sight of its social character, raising awareness of wheelchair tennis and the values it represents, such as equal opportunities and social inclusion, with a special focus on children and adolescents, through exhibitions, clinics, talks to schools and various activities parallel to the competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
