Corporate social responsibility
Sport creates opportunities. Education helps people go further.
At Johan Cruyff Institute, we believe in education as a tool to help people grow and contribute to a more professional, responsible, diverse, and inclusive sports industry.
This approach to education is rooted in the legacy of Johan Cruyff and translates into concrete actions: we facilitate access to education, support athletes pursuing a dual career, promote female talent, and collaborate with initiatives that use sport to create a positive impact on society.
“Alone we can’t do it. We have to do it together.”
Johan Cruyff
The Cruyff Athlete Fund
An athletic career may end. Talent continues.
Johan Cruyff always believed that athletes should prepare for their future beyond competition and make the most of the knowledge, experience, and values they gain throughout their careers.
This vision led to the creation of The Cruyff Athlete Fund, our scholarship fund for professional athletes who want to combine their athletic careers with education or prepare for the transition to a new professional stage within the sports industry.
Each year, The Cruyff Athlete Fund awards full and partial scholarships for postgraduate and master’s programs at Johan Cruyff Institute, helping athletes from different sports and countries access further education.
The goal is clear: to help athletes turn the experience they gain on the field into knowledge and new professional opportunities within the sports industry.
More Women Leading Sport
More talent. More opportunities. More women in decision-making roles.
We want to contribute to a sports industry where talent has equal opportunities to grow and lead.
That is why we support scholarship programs for women who want to develop their careers in the sports industry and move into positions of greater responsibility and leadership.
Together with World Football Summit (WFS), we developed a scholarship program to promote female leadership in the football industry, providing professional women with access to different master’s programs at Johan Cruyff Institute.
This initiative builds on other collaborations developed over the years, such as the scholarship program launched together with AEMED (Spanish Association of Women, Executives and Sport), with the same goal: to open up opportunities, empower female talent, and help reduce the gender gap in sports management.
Responsible Education
Developing leaders also means developing responsible professionals.
Johan Cruyff Institute is part of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative that promotes responsible management education and the development of leaders who can contribute to a more sustainable society.
Since 2020, Johan Cruyff Institute has been an Advanced PRME Signatory, reinforcing our commitment to education grounded in responsibility, ethics, and positive impact.
Code of conduct
How we do things matters.
At Johan Cruyff Institute, we partner with sports organizations that share our corporate values and meet our standards of ethical conduct. Whether they are potential partners, affiliated organizations, sponsors, ambassadors, or representatives, all must meet our requirements before becoming involved in any of our projects.
Our employees, students, faculty, collaborators, and partners uphold and respect Johan Cruyff Institute’s Code of Conduct. This code sets out the ethical and moral principles that guide our work and behavior across all areas of the organization. As part of our commitment to integrity and social responsibility, we ensure that all entities we collaborate with share these values and act accordingly.
